KNOWN VS. HIDDEN

What is known vs. what is hidden? Matt 10:26 says: So do not be afraid of them, for there is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known.

There are things that are evident to everyone; these are the things known to us. No one denies that there is wickedness & injustice in this world. Then some things are hidden that are not widely known; these are the things hidden from the public eye. The hidden things are what cause debate among us. We see this primarily on the topic of abortion & racism.

The god of this age (satan) blinds us (all of us) by convincing us that we are not the problem (2 Cor 4:4). That "they" are the problem—whoever "they" might be as long as it's not us. He uses this spiritual warfare tactic to pump up human pride so that we are less likely to humbly approach the Cross.

Because of this pride & position of self-righteousness, humans take things at face value. We are willing to blame the problem on what society determines is the problem as long as it 1) doesn't cause harm to us or 2) it benefits us. We don't want to peek under the hood for fear that we are actually the issue. The only thing that removes this spiritual blindness is the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Knowing about it is not enough. The Gospel falls on deaf ears every day & is shown before eyes that do not see. Understanding through faith because of God's grace is when the veil is torn, & the glory of God is revealed to us. His glory is so great that we have no choice but to fall on our faces & weep of our unholiness, corruptness, & foolishness. We hate ourselves & the world that perpetuates evil. We want nothing to do with it, but we know we can't solve it when we are the problem. So we look down to see Christ offering His hand to us. Offering us salvation that we might be coheirs with Christ under His federal headship should we choose to love & abide in Him.

Abortion isn't because [insert anything], & racism isn't because [insert anything]. It's because of sin (read Gen 1-11).

We were once blind, but now we see. What evil in the world hid, my Lord revealed to me.
